Unable to connect to wireless through xterm

Hello people i'm new to arch and im trying the wiki guide(which is really chaotic) to connect to my wifi. but

ifconfig wlan0 up

returns

wlan0: unknown interface : No such device

Why it doesn't work?

Try running "ifconfig" and see if there's really a wlan0 interface.
And make sure your wireless card is enabled.

have you installed the drivers for you wlan card? what type of card is it?

Hello Inxsible i'm not sure after so many commands! hmm i really am confused but i think i have installed the driver!

lspci | grep -i net gives:

00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: nVidia Corporation MCP67 Ethernet (rev a2)
