The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

The guys at http://www.humblebundle.com/ created another Humble Bundle, this time sponsoring a single developer, FrozenByte.

I've missed first two humble indie bundles, but now i've finally participated.
Unfortunately their games only work on nVidia and ATI video cards, so i am unable to run them as i have intel video card sad

How do you know ? That's too bad: I wanted to buy them and now my joy falls deep down hmm

I will have to buy the mac version...

Did anyone with an intel video card/chipset managed to make them run ?

Re: The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

The Mac version doesn't work on Intel chipsets either. The fact that the Linux version requires proprietary drivers has been unofficially confirmed in the comments of the Phoronix article...

You need lib32-libglade from the AUR

I've got it installed. sad

I'll probably post a thread, or ask in IRC as not to clog this thread with support.

edit: installing 'lib32-nvidia-utils' fixed all my problems. :>

Btw, is the windows version compatible with intel chips ? 'Cuz we may be able to run them under wine ? I did it with aquaria before I get the Lnux binaries and it worked like a charm smile

There are missing features in the open source 3D drivers. It is not the fault of the linux binaries but the driver, so running it through wine is pointless here.

Goddamnit, that's what I get for my fervor to participate and support - I even topped the mean linux contribution so as not to lower it and decrease the favorable light it puts on linux users. What a waste....

Re: The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

Trine doesn't launch on my Radeon HD 5870 with xf86-video-ati drivers, citing "this card does not support shader model 3".

I'm going to try the Catalyst drivers once they support xorg-server 1.10.

So, the game is really nvidia-only for now sad

Dammit !!

I was planning on getting this tonight. I have a Radeon HD 2400 sad and I use the xf86-video-ati drivers as well

catalyst-test works as good or as bad as default releases and has support for xorg 1.10 (it's the prerelease that ubuntu got because amd "officially" supports ubuntu and they have 1.10 in natty).

I have lib32-nvidia-utils installed,  tried to build lib32-libglade from AUR but failed complaining about a missing file (libglade-2.0.1-nowarning.patch) so I edited the PKGBUILD and removed all links to that file, and still it doesn't work for me.

Any other workarounds will be appreciated, sucks that only 1 in 5 games work for me at the moment (Jack Claw is windows only, splot hasnt been released, and both shadowgrounds games fail to install with the following error)

./ShadowgroundsBeta12.run: error while loading shared libraries: libglade-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

You can use the catalyst-testing package instead, which has support for xserver 1.10

Re: The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

Really awesome just got it

Trine is pretty cool, no problems installing and running it in my archlinux x86_64
but ShadowGrounds just exits silently, I have all the lib32 thats needed as well as lib32-catalyst-test, turning kwin on and off has no effect
Has anybody had any problems like this?

Re: The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

I bought Trine over PSN a while ago, it's one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Shadowgrounds is okay, I think.

Re: The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

How can I save progress in trine? I've installed it using aur PKGBUILD, played through some levels, but when I quit and run the game again, all slots are empty...

EDIT: ok, this should work http://tinyurl.com/6z8wzww

In short:

1. Delete all installed files (folders "trine" and ".frozenbyte")
2. Install the game, and use the "launcher-bin" to start the game, or use the button in the end of the installer
3. Now everything should work.

I had the same problem because I did not use the Launcher bin the first time. Instead I used the normal launch bin.

Re: The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

I read that Trine doesn't work if you have a Intel Chipset (965) until you have Mesa 7.11. Some info here: http://frozenbyte.com/board/viewtopic.p … 312#p13812

Re: The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

Something I miss from the first bundle is that almost none of the code is being open‐sourced.

It looks like Jack Claw’s source will be released, though.

Jack Claw's source was released from day 1 of the humble frozenbyte bundle. Shadowground's source might be released.
