When you enable testing, it really should be all, or nothing.
Do a sudo pacman -Syu

Powerpill doesn't work with pacman >= 3.5.

Also please make sure that testing repository is listed _first_ in your pacman.conf

According to the wiki, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GN … new_system
you install it with
# pacman -Syu testing/gnome

i do use "pacman -Syu testing/gnome" but it just keeps telling "no package testing/gnome found"
i have testing _first_ in my mirrorlist
i have read the wiki page but nothing to help me
but in packages.arch site it says we have gnome 3 in testing!!
so what should i do?
edit: i forgot to say, i am just using mirrors in usa (and the http ones), may that is the cause?

Maybe you are using out of date mirrors.

yeah, i was using outdated mirrorlist, thx guyz
but now i have another problem: when i want to install gnome from testing it says something about conflicts between libusb and libusb-compact:
/usr/bin/libusb-config
/usr/include/usb.h
/usr/lib/libusb-0.1.so.4
/usr/lib/libusb-0.1.so.4.4.4
/usr/lib/libusb.a
/usr/lib/libusb.so
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/libusb.pc
and say all the above exists...
i tried remove libusb but it is needed for hal and some others, so no luck..
what should i do?

@thelastblack pacman -Syu
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Make sure [testing] is at the top of your repository list, resync, then upgrade.

Moving to [testing]

Wow didnt know I was allowed to do that! I love Arch!
I helped 64 bit users and helped out with the scrivener package this weekend. I am feeling pretty productive! All those years as a front end tester are paying off.
Fixed! Follow the wiki! :-D
