Switched from my (not so) old COMPAQ Presario F750LA to her lil' sister, the COMPAQ Mini CQ10-120LA, running perfectly, even a VM of wXP runs very very fast.
It gets hot but in extremely abusing situations (yes, I do abuse of her power ),
it lasts for about 4 hours playing HD video, 4:30 to 5:00 if only writing a document or just idling
Only needed to install the broadcom-wl driver from AUR to use the wireless card, and an easy tweaking to use the intel graphics as it should be.
Besides of that, worked out-of the-box
Actually booting faster than my desktop, lol

Lenovo SL510
managed to make everything work properly, except graphics (ATI) which still has poor performance with the open source driver, but that is probably an issue of my own configuration so far and will look more into it when i have more time.

Dell dv6915nr works fine.
Have had some trouble with sound, probably my own fault and I havent yet had the time to dig deep and find an answer. Currently sound works fine, but I can't use the hardware sound buttons (mute, volume up/down). No big deal, and I'm sure there is an easy answer I just need to do a little research.
Other than that this laptop works great.

HP G56-127NR... cheapo laptop that I picked up for around $200 on black friday. Replaced the stock single core processor with a Phenom II N620--everything works out of the box. It came with a Radeon 4250 that I was planning to install proprietary drivers for, but the free drivers work so well that I'm going to keep them. CPU Frequency scaling also works under cpufrequtils with minimal configuration.

I'm sure it has been mentioned already(didn't bother to read the full thread), but my laptop runs Arch. Here are the specs:
Lenovo Thinkpad T420
Graphics: NVIDA NVS 4200M
NIC: Intel Advanced-N WiMax 6250
Processor: Intel Core i5
Just fyi, I had to use one of the newest net-installs in order to get the wireless controller to work. Just worked fine.

I am using Dell XPS 15 L501X. No problems so far. (except, you know, some bugs - which is expected from a rolling distro)

Running 64-bit with Gnome 3 on my HP EliteBook 8530W. Plays games very well, everything works but the fingerprint reader and modem (naturally). Fortunately I invested in a hardware controlled USB modem (USR5637).
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26GHz / 1066MHz FSB
RAM: 4GB DDR2-800 SDRAM
HDD: 500GB SATA
WLAN: Atheros AR5BXB72 mini-PCIe 802.11n (pulled from MacBook Pro, requires whitelist-free BIOS)
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
There is no system but GNU and Linux is one of its kernels.

MSI er710: everything works oob, except you wont be able to profit from catalyst drivers, just open-source ones are working,
And I am about to buy a new laptop namely the asus a52jv-sx079 with both nvidia GT540M and integrated intel gpu, anyone knows if I could get the nvidia GPU working instead of integrated solution?

Note that the 2011.05 install CD has too old a kernel (2.6.33) to recognize the hardware [network cards]. I used a rel-eng install CD (kernel >=2.6.38) and it all works like a charm.

Finally got wireless configured thanks to the forums here + aur for the driver/firmware. Havent tried the webcam yet, but I'm sure it works just like everything else so far. Finally got my laptop just how I want it!

Compaq Presario CQ56-219WM.
2.20Ghz Celeron 900 - Works
4.0GB RAM - Works
15.6" HD-LED Display - Works
Intel GMA 4500 - Works
Intel 82801 HD Audio - Works
Ralink RT5390STA Wireless Adapter - Works*
RealTek 8101E Ethernet - Works
Synaptics Touchpad - Works**
Overall Score: EXCELLENT.
* Requires rt5390sta kernel module. Source available from Ralink's website. 2.6.38 Kernel has support flagged as experimental, and not enabled by default. 2.6.39 no longer flagged experimental but still not enabled by default. Easy to compile. (Edit two lines of one config, make, make install, modprobe rt5390sta, done.)
** This model of laptop includes a multi-touch capable Synaptics Touchpad, though the driver in Windows disables multi-touch support to encourage buying a more expensive model. In Arch, two-finger scrolling works but I have't seen any pinch-to-zoom, etc Multi-touch software for Linux yet. Has on/off 'switch' (spot on touchpad with orange LED to indicate on/off status, activated by double-tap) that does not work in Linux.
This laptop is great for running Arch Linux on. It has a max of 8GB RAM, and the CPU can be upgraded if you do your homework (not soldered in!) and with a price-tag of $289 at WalMart, etc, it's a steal. Matte black finish. Very sleek. Runs 720p videos flawlessly. Once the rt5390sta is more widely supported, it will work 100% out of the box. Expect native support with Linux 3.0 Kernel release (the chipset itself at time of writing is only 7 months old, but thankfully Ralink released the driver source under GPLv2)
