Made a mechanical/steampunk style clock for conky.
YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfM8ReK80Rk
here it is on the desktop
Definitely one of the oversized lot

Thanks to this,
-- mod edit: read the rules and only post thumbnails https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=61754 [jwr] --
I'm removing this post.
Two pages back there is an image that's over 700 pixels tall, miine was 452x451. In addition, four pages back there is an image that's 406x850 pixels which I notice no ones gotten a "read the rules" message on. The page before that there's an image that's 800x468. You're being nitpicky and I could give a rats ass if you're an admin or not. Been here a long time and the only explaination I can come up with is you have a problem with me personally. You can apologize to me and I might put my code back up.

Ring Meters by londonali1010 (2009)
This script draws percentage meters as rings. It is fully customisable; all options are described in the script.
IMPORTANT: if you are using the 'cpu' function, it will cause a segmentation fault if it tries to draw a ring straight away. The if statement near the end of the script uses a delay to make sure that this doesn't happen. It calculates the length of the delay by the number of updates since Conky started. Generally, a value of 5s is long enough, so if you update Conky every 1s, use update_num > 5 in that if statement (the default). If you only update Conky every 2s, you should change it to update_num > 3; conversely if you update Conky every 0.5s, you should use update_num > 10. ALSO, if you change your Conky, is it best to use "killall conky; conky" to update it, otherwise the update_num will not be reset and you will get an error.
To call this script in Conky, use the following (assuming that you save this script to ~/scripts/rings.lua):
lua_load ~/scripts/rings-v1.2.1.lua
lua_draw_hook_pre ring_stats
Changelog:
+ v1.2.1 -- Fixed minor bug that caused script to crash if conky_parse() returns a nil value (20.10.2009)
+ v1.2 -- Added option for the ending angle of the rings (07.10.2009)
+ v1.1 -- Added options for the starting angle of the rings, and added the "max" variable, to allow for variables that output a numerical value rather than a percentage (29.09.2009)
+ v1.0 -- Original release (28.09.2009)

That's pretty good looking and displays just what I'd want. My only issue is the kerning on the time, and the date's number's aligment. Otherwise, it's perfect! <3

Thanks for the comment hobarrera. Kerning on the time is because of the chosen font. Ofcourse, Changing the font will reduce the kerning space. But I'd like it to be that way

A little conky project I have been working on
it's not perfect, but it's all conky, no lua, no json, except the top bar!
YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yicGp-Imu4s&
Sorry about the bad quality, I created it with;

Conkyrc: http://pastebin.com/7UJxvP8V
It's based on someone's config. I just changed a couple of things like battery status, free space, shortcuts, etc.

@Nocta, just so you know, you don't need to hide the things you redacted from your screen shot. The IP address and gateway shown appears to be the LAN IP that is behind the NAT and DNS is not really something you need to keep secret either. It is the external IP that you might not want to give out. But that doesn't even seem to appear in the config you have there.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's just that I'm new on the internet and it seems so cool when other people do it.

Thanks, thedeli! Are there places where one can get some selection of these solutions?

Nice okubox, couldn't resist it:

A work in progress but thank you for a nice starting point.

Here is mine. I wanted to keep it simple yet have the information that I need. The one on the right is based entirely on Brok9n's post on page 42 in this thread. The weather one is TeoBigusGeekus' script. Thanks to the both of yous!

Hey guys. I skimmed this thread and threw this setup together in a couple of hours.
I went for a black and red theme, because my laptop has a few red buttons, and it looks really cool when you can see the desktop and laptop at the same time!

Would love to have your background there. Tried googling it and couldn't find it, do you mind sharing?

Hey all,
Pretty new here, just wanted to show off my conky config. Its not much but I love it. Originally ripped from a post in this thread and then modified.

I recently upgraded my mobo & CPU, and found that gkrellm would not show the frequencies for all the cores in my CPU, so I decided to move to Corky, and then I was inspired by okubax's config, so I spent last night tweaking .conkyrc and the Rings script for my setup:
The CPU ring shows all 8 cores, and the outer ring is the CPU temp. I added a 4th ring to the Storage ring to show all my partitions, took out the IP addresses from the Bandwidth ring, changed the battery % ring to show my GPU temp instead, and I made the clock ring a full circle.
My .conkyrc:

Ring Meters by londonali1010 (2009)
This script draws percentage meters as rings. It is fully customisable; all options are described in the script.
IMPORTANT: if you are using the 'cpu' function, it will cause a segmentation fault if it tries to draw a ring
straight away. The if statement near the end of the script uses a delay to make sure that this doesn't happen.
It calculates the length of the delay by the number of updates since Conky started. Generally, a value of 5s
is long enough, so if you update Conky every 1s, use update_num > 5 in that if statement (the default).
If you only update Conky every 2s, you should change it to update_num > 3; conversely if you update Conky
every 0.5s, you should use update_num > 10. ALSO, if you change your Conky, is it best to use
"killall conky; conky" to update it, otherwise the update_num will not be reset and you will get an error.
To call this script in Conky, use the following (assuming that you save this script to ~/scripts/rings.lua):
lua_load ~/scripts/rings-v1.2.1.lua
lua_draw_hook_pre conky_main
Changelog:
+ v1.2.2 -- Added 4 more rings to CPU circle, 1 to Storage and changed the Battery circle to report GPU temp.
This is a forked version by jh at brainiac dot com (17.01.2014)
+ v1.2.1 -- Fixed minor bug that caused script to crash if conky_parse() returns a nil value (20.10.2009)
+ v1.2 -- Added option for the ending angle of the rings (07.10.2009)
+ v1.1 -- Added options for the starting angle of the rings, and added the "max" variable, to allow for
variables that output a numerical value rather than a percentage (29.09.2009)
+ v1.0 -- Original release (28.09.2009)

The source and instructions are at Github.
I did everything stated on the readme file, but the rss feed isn't displaying any information.
Help?
EDIT. All working fine now. was probably a stream issue that was the cause of the delay.
