@Vladimiroff if aur/kscreen-frameworks installed following command must help:
kcmshell5 kcm_kscreen

@unikum I was able to find the kscreen panel in system settings. At first I thought the resolution is wrong, but as far as kscreen showed it was 2560x1600.

Do you set DPI manually may be? Try to play with xrandr: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xrandr
Offline
@unikum, I think DPI was set properly, because as you can see the Qt applications were rendering the fonts as expected. My biggest issue was not the pixelated symbols, but mainly the kwin related one.

hmm, where is kscreen anyway? kscreen-frameworks still seems to be in the AUR…
/edit: i’m dumb, you’re talking about the AUR version.

Hey guys with the new upgrades, I think there are some issues with Konsole. It's not showing colored output Bold, though I've set it in settings. And do you know how to convert a file from one encoding to another in new version of Kwrite. I cannot find any option in menus/save as so I've filed a bugreport.
I think KF 5 and apps based on KF 5 are not "stable" enough to go out of testing. Why packagers had a decision to move packages from testing, do you have any idea? (Anyway best solution looks like holding packages until they are ready)

I have some Xsession errors.
The first about ksystraycmd I don't have any idea: In plasma-workspace version 5.1.95-1 that file is missing.
The problem about kwalletd is different. klauncher really is there in kinit 5.6.0-1 but kwalletd in now kwalletd5. Maybe a chromium problem?

Unfortunately at my case raw system tray support absence is a reason to leave plasma and to switch to cinnamon at the moment. Have got tied with fighting. There are too many system-tray-oriented application in use (thunderbird, cantata, goldendict, pidgin, skype, ... they are million!). I guess it is a mistake to eliminate tray support in plasma. Will you name my view being legacy?

@student975 - have you tried this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KD … tray_icons, already?

Taking into account lib32 support there are approximately a half of all AUR is needed It seems I'm not sufficiently brave to accept such big set of AUR apps at the moment. As far as we have plenty of DE alternatives, I prefer to switch and wait for upstream resolution (would such one take place). Thanks for the help/

Has Dolphin and Konqueror been ported to KF5 yet?
Also, what about kmix, kcalc, ktorrent, etc?

They're still with the kdebase- prefix, so I suppose that the answer is no.
Edit: they = konqueror and dolphin.
ktorrent, for example, never got the kdebase- prefix.

@diegoviola & @thiagowfx:
Dolphin
Version 4.60
Using KDE Frameworks 5.7.0
kmix --version
Qt: 5.4.0
KDE Development Platform: 5.7.0
KMix: 4.6RC1
KCalc
Version 2.13
Using KDE Frameworks 5.7.0
konqueror --version
Qt: 5.4.0
KDE Development Platform: 5.7.0
Konqueror: 5.7.0
Of course all of them are from git repository. I haven't got any information about ktorrent. I think, that we expect kdebase applications (konqueror, kfind, kdepasswd, keditbookmarks, kdialog, konq-plugins and dolphin) in KDE Applications 15.04. Maybe Ark and KCron, too. And some of games. Even work about KDEPIM are advanced, but I think that it will be rather in KDE Applications 15.08 then in 15.04, but... maybe Digikam is almost ready.

Nice, thanks.
Here's hoping that they make a release of those applications the day they release Plasma 5.2 as well.
Because while plasma5 is very nice, I can't really use it right now, I'm going to try it again when most applications I use are ported to KF5.
Switching to another DE for now.

Unfortunetly no. Since KDE SC has been splitted to Frameworks, Plasma and Applications, each one has it's own release schedule. First "new" Apps was released in December 2014, the next will be on April 2015, After that, we expect new in August and December this year, and so on. Plasma 5.2 should be released today, The next, main version - Plasma 5.3 - in the end of April 2015, Plasma 5.4 should be in July 2015, Plasma 5.5 in October etc...
See: https://techbase.kde.org/Schedules for Frameworks, Plasma and Applications.

Hi there! Is there any way not to upgrade to KF 5? If I agree to all that pacman suggests, I get a mix of KDE 4 and 5 applications. I want Kwrite, Konsole, etc from KDE 4 to stay and not be replaced with KF5 versions. Is it possible?

See the thread Staying on KDE 4 or Pacman's options and think yourself.

Somehow, since I switched to Plasma 5.2 yesterday, whenever I close Steam, it doesn't really end the process(es) and uses 2 of my 4 cores to 100%. Killing them then brings up kded5/kdeinit5 to use one of my cores to 100%. Someone else seeing a similiar behaviour?

Hi all,
I've a couple of problems with KDE4 and KF5 applications communicating with each other since recent updates - any ideas appreciated.
First of all, both kwallet4 and kwallet5 are used, so I have to enter the password for both, which is a bit tedious.
Also, I can't open remote files in Kate directly from Dolphin with recent updates. If I browse to a file on an FTP server in Dolphin and open with Kate, Kate displays the correct filename, but it's contents are blank.
I'm using the current versions from extra: extra/kdebase-dolphin 14.12.1-2 and extra/kate 14.12.1-4.
I assume this is an issue with passing the authentication on from Dolphin to Kate, since the current version of Dolphin in extra is still kde4, but Kate is KF5. Would this be related to the two versions of kwallet?
Are kde4 and kf5 using different means of authentication that can't communicate with each other? Any ideas of a way to work around this?
Thanks.

If you have installed KDE 4 dolphin in KF5 you may have noticed that F4 doesn't work anymore, probably because of konsole update. I wish KF5 dolphin make it soon in the official repos.

F4 works well, but you have to install konsolepart4.

Thanks Arojas, I missed that thread.
I assume the issue with both versions of kwallet running is unavoidable until applications are all ported, is it?
