It's strange,
I've a Asus P5Q-E mainboard, with to NIC's (Marvell 88E8056 / 88E8001 Gigabit LAN).
Example:
Now I'm online with eth0, if I reboot eth0 will not work but, if I change my lan-cabel from eth0 to eth1 and restart the network (sudo /etc/rc.d/network restart) it works, after another reboot, the same again, just eth0 interchanged with eth1
It's really annoying to change the lan-cabel everytime you reboot.
I hope you can help me ![]()
Best regards D4v1d

This is answered in the wiki, and has been asked at least half a dozen times in the forums every couple of weeks.
PLEASE search the forums before starting your own thread.
FYI, these are all threads answering this question I found from one simple search:

D4v1d,
I hate to say it, but you have made a classic blunder. tomk and fukawi2 accurately point out that the answer is out there in the forums and has been answered.
I see you are fairly new to the forum -- You have received a classical response from the forum like that described in this excellent article: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-que … l#id382403
Don't be put off, but do respect the time and effort of those who participate in this forum by doing the research, and, if you did not find a solution, well us what it was you searched for and did not find. That may help us make it more findable in the future.
-- and welcome to the forums.

The search doesn't usually work that well on the forums, it's been suggested to do a google search on the site, "eth0 eth1 switching on boot site:bbs.archlinux.org" would have gotten you some good results.
Once you feel your question has been answered fully, please edit the original post, and prepend '[Solved]' to the title. You can look for that tag in searches too.
